Reporters slip across border to cover Libya

With Gadhafi’s grip on power weakening, journalists are finally able to witness the revolt firsthand. With foreign journalists banned in Libya, it’s been very difficult to confirm the reports emerging by phone and social media that the government is brutally cracking down on protesters demanding the ouster of the country’s strongman leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Libyan City Falls As Turmoil Takes New Turn

Libyan protesters celebrated in the streets of Benghazi on Monday, claiming control of the country’s second largest city after bloody fighting, and anti-government unrest spread to the capital with clashes in Tripoli’s main square for the first time. Moammar Gadhafi’s son vowed that his father and security forces would fight “until the last bullet.”
